Second local workshop organized by ACTEDJ(D.T.2.2.1) – “Development of ecological tourism”

On the 7th of November, ACTEDJ has organized the second local workshop (D.T.2.2.1 within the GreeTHiS BSB- 305 project. The event started with a presentation of the project, its objectives, and activities.

The event was attended by the representatives of the local community, local public authority, interest groups including NGOs, SME and gathered together over 25 representatives of the different institutions from Galati.

In the second part, a debate was held on the field of ecological/green tourism in Galati area. There were presented both measures that should be taken by the local authorities as well as future activities organized in the community to promote and enhance the ecological and cultural tourism.

 

Some of the measures to promote and increase the visibility of tourism in the Galati area:

– establishing partnerships with travel agencies;

– creating a local brand;

– creation of a social media channel (vlog) to promote online all the buildings of historical and cultural interest in the Galati area.

At the end of the event, the ACTEDJ team used an online evaluation tool called Mentimeter. Each participant had the opportunity to enter online and submit an evaluation of the event in 3 words. All assessments of the participants formed a cloud.

Second “Site visit – D.T.2.3.1” in Izmail, Ukraine

On October 18th 2019 in Izmail, Ukraine second “Site visit – D.T.2.3.1” took place. The event was organized within the framework of the project “GreeTHiS – Green Tourism and Historical Heritage – a Stepping Stone for the Development of the Black Sea Basin”, funded by the Joint Operational Programme “Black Sea Basin 2014-2020”, stakeholders (representatives of NGOs, state and municipal institutions, SMEs, associations) have visited the Izmail Museum of O.V. Suvorov as one of the objects of cultural heritage.

The event was organized by a partner of the project – the Executive Committee of the Izmail City Council.

The Museum of O.V. Suvorov in Izmail is the second museum in the world by the value and composition of the collection of exhibits after the St. Petersburg Museum of O.V. Suvorov, and its building is a monument of the history and architecture of the XIX century. The museum collection includes more than 30 thousand exhibits, these are collections of uniforms and equipment of the Russian and Western European armies of the XVII-XX centuries, painting and graphics on the subject of Russian-Turkish wars of the XVIII-XIX centuries, objects of archeology and construction, numismatics.

Within the framework of this event, stakeholders had the opportunity to learn about the specific historical times and historical figures of the region, as well as to view the unique manor of the XIX century.

Workshops in Cahul, Moldova

The Cross-border Cooperation and European Integration Agency Cahul has already organized three local workshops within the project   “Green Tourism and Historical Heritage – a stepping stone for the development of the Black Sea Basin (GreeTHIS)”, funded by the European Union through the Black Sea Basin Programme 2014-2020. 

The first one took place on May 14, 2019 inside of the Business Incubator from Cahul.

The second workshop was organized on August 1, 2019 and was held inside of the Chamber of Commerce from Cahul.

The third workshop took place in Văleni village, and was held inside of Museum of History and Ethno-folklore. Each event gathered together over 25 – 30  representatives of different institution from Cahul like NGO’s, stakeholders, and representatives of the Local Public Administration, architects, experts and tourism specialists, representatives of the local media, as well as mayors from the villages involved in the Project. The organizers used the opportunity and presented to the people present the main purpose of the project, the target groups, the budget, the main activities within the project, but not least the partners who are implementing this project. At the same time, there were presented the investments that will be made, the deliverables, but also other things and events that will be carried out.

At the same time, the official website of the project www.greethis.net was presented, as well as the facebook page https://www.facebook.com/GreeThis/ where you can find detailed information on the activities that are being implemented gradually.

Site visits on the south of Moldova

During October, Cross-border Cooperation and European Integration Agency Cahul organized two Site visits in the framework of the activity 2.3.1 of the project “Green Tourism and Historical Heritage – a stepping stone for the development of the Black Sea Basin (GreeTHIS)”, funded by the European Union through the Black Sea Basin Programme 2014-2020.

The first of them took place in the city of Cahul on October 15 and the participants of this event had the opportunity to visit the main tourist attractions from the Cahul city.

The second one was organized as a tour during which several representative tourist objectives were visited for the south of Moldova such as Golden Hills from Valeni village, and to the Traditional Courtyard “Casa Dorului”, Beleu Lake, the monument in memory of the Battle from Cahul, located at the entrance to Vulcanesti city, Traian Valley, Vinia Traian Winery, etc.

 

These activities have the purpose of examining the local potential tourism in order to evaluate the types of services and products that will have to be developed in order to enhance the local cultural tourism.

Third “Site visit – D.T.2.3.1” in Izmail, Ukraine

On October 21st, 2019 in Izmail within the framework of the project “GreeTHiS – Green Tourism and Historical Heritage – a Stepping Stone for the Development of the Black Sea Basin”, funded by the Joint Operational Programme “Black Sea Basin 2014-2020”, stakeholders (representatives of NGOs, state and municipal institutions, SMEs, associations) have visited the Branch of the Communal establishment of Izmail City Council “Historical Museum Named after Oleksandr Suvorov” – Diorama “The Izmail Fortress Asault”, which is a cultural and architectural monument of national importance.


The event was organized by a partner of the project – the Executive Committee of the Izmail City Council in framework of the implementation of A.T2.3 “Site visits to potential historical and cultural tourist objects”.
Diorama “The Izmail Fortress Asault” was opened on May 9th 1973 in the oldest building of the city – Turkish mosque of the late 16th century. The mosque is one of the few examples of medieval classical Ottoman architecture in Ukraine during its heyday.


Visitors were able to get acquainted with one of the key periods of the city’s history, visit an architectural monument demonstrating the Muslim (Turkish) period of Izmail, get acquainted with the history of everyday life and crafts of the inhabitants of the fortress of Izmail.
