The launching event of GreeTHIS started with a meeting on 13th December 2018 in the Regional Government Office in Varna, Bulgaria and hosted by UBBSLA as the project lead partner.
The meeting was officially opened by Mr. Stoyan Pasev, Regional Governor of Varna, who stated the significance of enhancing synergies between energy efficiency and tourism in the Black Sea region. Representatives of all project partners shared best practices and successful examples of activities carried out in the Black Sea countries.
The event gathered over 30 representatives of the partners together with municipal administrators, experts and specialists on tourism, culture heritage, local planning and development from the Bulgarian Black Sea municipalities, who will be potentially involved in the specific actions and participatory activities of the project.
The launching event coincided with the kick-off meeting in the UBBSLA office, devoted to the administrative and financial operation of the project, discussion of the major group of activities, expected results and deliverables. The tasks and responsibilities per respective partners were distributed and timeframe of the following actions was set.
The project partners visited the central urban area in Varna and were introduced with the culture management assets for the residents and local society the city has inherited throughout the years of experience. This study visit served to initiation of further inspirations to the culture heritage concept the GreeTHIS project would deliver within the Black Sea area.
