3rd transnational meeting was held in the period 20-22 November 2019 in Izmail, Ukraine in the framework of the project “Green Tourism and Historical Heritage – a stepping stone for the development of the Black Sea Basin (GreeTHIS)”, funded by the European Union through the Black Sea Basin Programme 2014-2020.
This time Executive Committee of Izmail City Council hosted project partners from Bulgaria, Romania, Georgia and Republic of Moldova. During the partners meeting consortium discussed all current issues and urgent questions in project implementation. Also plan for future activities and “to do list” were developed.
On 21st November 2019 international workshop “Green, active and historical tourism development in the Black Sea countries” was organized. 39 representatives of local public authorities, public (service) providers, SME, Business support organisations and other interested persons were able to get acquainted with tourist potential, existing tourist routes, hotels, attractions and touristic infrastructure in project partners countries. The ideas for future Roadmap (which will be developed in the framework of the project) were discussed and proposals from stakeholders were taken into account by project staff.
Also, project partners and stakeholders visited the family-owned production of sausages and homemade brandy “Balkansky Yastia” in Bolgrad, where they were introduced to the production process itself, preserved cultural monuments and the history of the region.
