Third “Site visit – D.T.2.3.1” in Izmail, Ukraine

On October 21st, 2019 in Izmail within the framework of the project “GreeTHiS – Green Tourism and Historical Heritage – a Stepping Stone for the Development of the Black Sea Basin”, funded by the Joint Operational Programme “Black Sea Basin 2014-2020”, stakeholders (representatives of NGOs, state and municipal institutions, SMEs, associations) have visited the Branch of the Communal establishment of Izmail City Council “Historical Museum Named after Oleksandr Suvorov” – Diorama “The Izmail Fortress Asault”, which is a cultural and architectural monument of national importance.


The event was organized by a partner of the project – the Executive Committee of the Izmail City Council in framework of the implementation of A.T2.3 “Site visits to potential historical and cultural tourist objects”.
Diorama “The Izmail Fortress Asault” was opened on May 9th 1973 in the oldest building of the city – Turkish mosque of the late 16th century. The mosque is one of the few examples of medieval classical Ottoman architecture in Ukraine during its heyday.


Visitors were able to get acquainted with one of the key periods of the city’s history, visit an architectural monument demonstrating the Muslim (Turkish) period of Izmail, get acquainted with the history of everyday life and crafts of the inhabitants of the fortress of Izmail.

The third Site visit organized by ACTEDJ

On October 05, ACTEDJ organized the third Site visit (DT2.3.1) within the GreeTHis BSB- 305 project. The event started with a presentation of the project, its objectives and activities. In collaboration with  “Mila 80” Association, the project team has outlined a route that presented some buildings of historical and cultural interest which were part of the old town center. Some of them no longer exist but they were mentioned. The theme of this tour was related to the historical buildings which are part of the old town center.

The representative of “Mila 80” Association presented information regarding the architects of the buildings and which institution carried out their activity in those buildings until they came into the possession of the current owners. Unfortunately, most require intervention work both on the consolidation side and on the energy side.

The event was attended by the representatives of the local community, NGO’s, stakeholders, and representatives of SME and local public authority.

A treia vizită turistică organizată de către ACTEDJ

În data de 5 octombrie, ACTEDJ a organizat a treia vizită turistică în cadrul activității (DT2.3.1) din cadrul proiectului GreeTHis BSB-305. Evenimentul a început cu o prezentare a proiectului, obiectivele și activitățile acestuia. În colaborare cu Asociația „Mila 80”, echipa de proiect a conturat un tur care a prezentat câteva clădiri de interes istoric și cultural ce făceau parte din centrul vechi al orașului. Unele dintre ele nu mai există, dar au fost totuși menționate. Tema acestui tur a fost legată de clădirile istorice ce fac parte din centrul vechi al orașului.

Reprezentantul Asociației „Mila 80” a prezentat informații  despre  arhitectorii clădirilor și ce instituții și-au desfășurat activitatea în acele clădiri până când au intrat în posesia actualilor proprietari. Din păcate, cele mai multe dintre aceste clădiri necesită lucrări de reconstrucție atât pe partea de consolidare, cât și la partea de eficiență energetică.

La eveniment au participat reprezentanții comunității locale, ONG-urilor, părților interesate, dar și reprezentanți ai IMM-urilor și autorităților publice locale.
